I was in Germany when JFK was assassinated.

I was 13 years old and lived in Karlshure Germany at the time of Kennedy's assassination.

My dad was Col. Samuel Aurit and commander of the post.

I was 20 miles away from our home at  a stamp collection meeting.  The only person there that was under 25 years of age was me.  I was 13 years old. All of a sudden 4 Military police came in the room where 10 guys and me were trading stamps. One MP picked me up and threw me over his shoulder while another military policeman said to other soldiers go back to you post . I asked what was going on. They told me top secret and for security reason they could not tell me. I  did not know what was going on. Five military cars as escorted me back to Karlshure. But I knew being born into a military family I had to be cool.

We went back to Karlshure  and was taken to the base school gym where all the residents were. Again no one told me what was going on. We finally went home that night was told  that JFK was assassination.
