Two years after her sentencing, former attorney general Kathleen Kane's appeals have been rejected and she's officially headed to prison.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Two years after her sentencing, former attorney general Kathleen Kane's appeals have been rejected and she's officially headed to prison.
Kane was booked at Montgomery County Correctional Facility Thursday morning, where she will spend the next 10 to 23 months on charges of perjury and related counts.
Kane, 52, appeared to be smiiling in photos of taken of her arriving a the prison in a black truck. She was smiling in her booking photo, as well.

Kane was once considered a rising star in the Democratic Party before leaking information about a grand jury probe in an attempt to embarass a rival, leading to a lengthy and highly publicized controversy.
Kane will be held in protective custody to begin with. If she asks for it, she will be granted protective custody for the remainder of her stay because she is a former law enforcement official, authorities said.

Inmates are granted two visitors a week for two hours, per prison rules.
