KOP Mall To Remain Open Amid Coronavirus Outbreak
Gov. Wolf "did not define what nonessential retail is," the mall said, as establishments around Montgomery County shut down.
KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — King of Prussia Mall has announced they will remain open amid the novel coronavirus outbreak, despite urging from public health officials that all nonessential businesses and public places shut down.
On Thursday, Gov. Wolf ordered all schools, community centers, daycares, and other public places closed to prevent further spread of coronavirus, which has infected 28 people statewide.

"With respect to Governor Wolf's statement, the Governor did not mandate store closures and did not define what nonessential retail is," the mall said in a statement.
Most major businesses and event spaces in Montgomery County have shut down in response. That includes the Preit properties of Plymouth Meeting Mall and Willow Grove Park Mall, as well as Elmwood Park Zoo and Valley Forge Casino.

Simon Malls, the owner of King of Prussia, also said that their other major property in the county, Montgomery Mall, would remain open.
The malls are leaving it up to individual retailers on whether to open or close.
King of Prussia has more than 2.7 million square feet of indoor space and nearly 500 stores, making it the second largest mall in the United States.
"We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will comply with any federal, state, or local government requirements as they arise," their statement read.
