NORRISTOWN, PA — Temperatures are rapidly dropping in Montgomery County, leading to local officials once again issuing a Code Blue Cold Weather Emergency.

The warning is in place for several days, from 9 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 27 to 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30.

Lows will be in the low 20s or teens for much of the county, with wind chills threatening to make it feel even colder.

Individuals without shelter, as well as elderly residents, are at particular risk.

  • Check on elederly friends and neighbors and those most at risk
  • Make sure your car is winterized with antifreeze, a full tank of gas, properly inflated tires, and is stocked with an emergency kit
  • Check your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors
  • Wear appropriate clothing and avoid prolonged exposure when going outdoors in winter weather
  • Limit pets' time outdoors during extreme temperatures
