Longtime Area Fire Engineer, Public Servant Passes Away
Carl Daywalt Jr., 62, was married to his wife for 41 years and was a devoted public servant.

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — Carl W. Daywalt, Jr., age 62, husband of Bernadette (Taylor) Daywalt, of Norristown, PA, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 in the Einstein Medical Center Montgomery with his family by his side. Born on May 23, 1956 in Bryn Mawr, PA, he was a son of the Carl and Mae (Carter) Daywalt.

Mr. Daywalt was a graduate of Upper Merion High School. He was a lifetime member of the Goodwill Fire Company in Bridgeport, and a member of Black Rock Fire Company in Oaks and the Washington Fire Company No. 1 in Conshohocken. He was also a social member of the AOH in Swedesburg. He was formerly involved with Sportsman dirt track racing and enjoyed NASCAR. Mr. Daywalt was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed spending time camping, riding ATVs, and boating.
In addition to his wife of 41 years, Mr. Daywalt is survived by four children, Carl W. Daywalt III, fiance of Megan Hallman of Royersford, PA, Lisa M., wife of Paul Foraker of Norristown, PA, James C. Daywalt, fiance of Caitlin DePenna of Wayne, PA, and Joseph F. Daywalt of Norristown, PA; five grandchildren, Julianna Daywalt, Anthony Foraker, Kristopher Foraker, Carter Daywalt, and Hannah Daywalt; and one brother, Gerald Daywalt Sr. of Oaks, PA. Mr. Daywalt was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Howard Daywalt.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral ceremony at the Hope Community Church, 150 East Beidler Road, King of Prussia, PA 19406 on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 10:30 AM. Officiating will be Rev. George Searfoss. Burial will be held in the Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer, PA. Friends will be received on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the church and on Friday morning from 9:00 AM - 10:15 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Carl W. Daywalt Jr. Memorial Fund, c/o Phoenix Federal Bank, 70 N. Lewis Road, Royersford, PA 19468 to help offset final expenses. Condolences may be made by visiting www.RoyersfordFuneralHome.com.
