Norristown Farm Park is hosting several environmental education events for the general public.
All events are free but require pre-registration.

Sunday, June 7th at 8:00 am
Early Bird Walk
Come on a walk to look for birds that are breeding in the park. Flycatchers, vireos and warblers are likely
to be seen. Bring binoculars if you have them. Ages: adults and children 7 and up; free; pre-registration
required; meet in parking lot #5.
Sunday, June 14th at 2:00 pm
Trees: The Millennium Grove
Participate in a patriotic activity on Flag Day. Take an historic tree walk along our millennium grove.
These trees were planted at the Farm Park on April 28, 2000 to celebrate Arbor Day. They are
descendants of trees that had an important place in American history. Review history and sharpen your
tree identification skills on this leisurely walk. Ages: adults and children 10 and up; free; pre-registration required; meet at the park office

The ‘Daring Dad’ Scavenger Hunt
Bring your dad to the park this Father’s Day for a challenging nature scavenger hunt. He’ll have to follow
a series of clues to find the items or answer questions. The first dad back with all requirements met is the
winner! Families are welcome to help dad in the search. Ages: all; free; pre-registration required; meet in parking lot #2.

Fireflies: Nature’s Fireworks

Join us for an evening to discover the world of fireflies or lightning bugs (which are neither flies nor bugs).
Learn about their amazing behavior and life cycle. The program begins just before dusk and ends just
after dusk, so bring a flashlight. Ages: adults and children 6 and up; pre-registration required; meet in parking lot #3.
Junior Naturalist Camp: Coming to the park this summer!
July 20th-24th
Complete information and registration forms are available on-line at www.montcopa.org/pths (under
Norristown Farm Park) or you may pick up the forms in person at the park office or, for your convenience,
forms can be mailed. Camp runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and the cost is $50.00 for the week.
For children who have completed third grade through sixth grade (ages 9-12). NO registrations will be
accepted without full payment and completed registration form. For more information, phone 610-270-
