Man Arrested With Fentanyl In Upper Merion Grocery Store Lot: Police

Police said the man was wanted on multiple warrants.

UPPER MERION, PA — A man walking through a Upper Merion grocery store parking lot carrying fentanyl in the middle of the afternoon was arrested by police, officials announced.

The incident occurred back on Nov. 1 at around 3:40 p.m. at the Giant on 310 S. Henderson Road.

Police said they targeted patrols in the area due to past criminal activity.

They spotted a man who they recognized who had recently missed his court hearing for a separate case, and who was currently wanted for two prior drug cases.

Police took the man, who was not named publicly, into custody. He was booked at Montgomery County Correctional Facility and charged with possession of a controlled substance. A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
