Man Confesses To Trying To Kill Two Women In Norristown

The shooting stemmed from an argument between the man and friends of the mother of his child, police said.

NORRISTOWN, PA — A Philadelphia man has confessed to attempting to killing two women in Montgomery County in 2021, according to court documents.

Brian Cole, 40, pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted homicide in Montgomery County court this week. Other charges against him, including aggravated assault, were dismissed as part of his plea.

Attempted murder carries a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison in Pennsylvania.

The incident occurred on May 31, 2021 by the Norristown Transportation Center along the 500 block of Green Street.

Cole had been upset at the mother of his child, who barred Cole from entering her Green Street apartment, police said. While walking back to the Norristown Transportation Center, Cole encountered three acquaintances of the mother of his child. An argument ensued between Cole and one of these women, according to authorities.

Cole left the area, but he returned with a 9mm and fired 13 rounds at the women, who were standing next to a vehicle, police said.

Both women who were hit by Cole's bullets recovered from the shooting.

Sentencing is forthcoming.
