Man Killed After Breaking Into Ex's Norristown Apartment: DA

The woman had a protection from abuse order out against the man, who was shot by a third person, police said. The investigation is ongoing.

NORRISTOWN, PA — A man who broke into the Norristown apartment of the mother of his child, who he was forbidden to have contact with, was shot and killed, authorities said Monday.

Travis Cummings, 20, of Haverford, who had been visiting the woman, shot Shafeeq Robbins, 28, of Norristown, after he broke in, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office said.

Cummings faces firearms and drug charges unrelated to the shooting, and while the homicide investigation is ongoing, he is not facing any murder or assault charges at this time.

Cummings is awaiting a preliminary hearing at Montgomery County Correctional Facility, where he is currently being held.
