Man Steals More Than $1200 In Items From Home Depot In Upper Merion

UPPER MERION, PA — A man recently stole some $1,250 in items from the local Home Depot and police are asking for the public's help in tracking him down.
The incident occurred on July 19 at around 1 p.m. at the store on 181 S. Gulph Road.
The man took the stolen items, chiefly comprised of tools, and shoved past the loss prevention agent at the store's exit, authorities said. He then fled the store in his Nissan Altima.

Upper Merion Police searched the area for the vehicle and found it eventually on I-76, where it fled from police when they tried to stop it. The vehicle crashed a short time later near the intersection with I-476 and the suspect fled on foot.
Police from several surrounding muncipalities searched the area but were unable to find the man. Inside his car, they said they found the stolen goods, drugs, and a loaded handgun.

The suspect is described as a thin white male with a beard, white hate, white t-shirt, and white shoes.
