Man Took Pictures Of Child Inside East Norriton Starbucks: Report

The barista reportedly told the child's mom that "he's been here all week doing this but we can't ask him to leave."

EAST NORRITON, PA -- A mother told police that a man she'd never met before took pictures of her child inside a local Starbucks on Tuesday.

NBC10 reports that the man had been taking pictures inside the Starbucks all week, but employees told the mother that they could not ask him to leave.

Authorities said that the man had not done anything illegal, but they are looking into the incident.

"Many of us in the police department are parents as well and can understand how this incident could make us feel vulnerable," the department said in a statement Wednesday addressing the incident. "Our department is committed to protecting the people who live and visit East Norriton Township, especially our children."

In addition to the police investigation, Starbucks has also begun their own investigation.

According to Starbucks company policy, the business is in fact allowed to ask a customer to leave if they are disrupting the overall "welcoming experience" for other clientele.

Patch has reached out to Starbucks for comment on this case.

Starbucks is still reeling from a recent controversy in which two men in Philadelphia were arrested for refusing to leave a coffee shop because they had not made a purchase.
