Massive Norristown Fire Leaves Several Injured, Homes Destroyed

Several residents had to be rescued from windows in the middle of the night, according to reports.

NORRISTOWN, PA — A massive fire destroyed several homes overnight in Norristown and left multiple individuals injured, according to authorities and media reports.

The fire began in the rowhomes near the intersection of West Airy Street and Cherry Street just before 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters responding to the scene rescued numerous victims from the windows of their homes as the fire quickly spread, according to 6ABC.

NBC10 reports that a father, his pregnant wife, and two children were among those who had to make a daring escape in the middle of the night.

Authorities said that at least seven people suffered smoke inhalation and other injuries.
