Measles Outbreak Expands As Montco Focuses On Contact Tracing
New cases of measles have put health officials on alert.
NORRISTOWN, PA — A ninth case of measles was confirmed in Philadelphia on Wednesday as the infectious disease, which has not had a meaningful public presence for decades, continues to spread.
Montgomery County, fortunately, still has not had confirmed a positive case, a spokesperson for the county told Patch on Wednesday.
The county is nonetheless continuing its contact tracing efforts relating to two potential exposure events that occurred in the county. It's not clear how many individuals have been asked to quarantine as a result of those incidents.
