Montco Childcare, Daycare Centers Get $3.5 Million In Funding
Some 300 facilities around the county will receive a much needed boost to the area's in-need "human infrastructure."
NORRISTOWN, PA — Montgomery County will provide $3.5 million in grant funding to some 300 childcare centers across the area, they announced this week.
The facilities applied to the county's Childcare Operational Grant Program, which is funded with pandemic recovery funds.
"Some of the biggest challenges opening and operating during the pandemic have been teacher retention and finding high quality teachers," said April Colbert, owner of Kidz Konnect Childcare Center in Blue Bell, one of the facilities that received funding. "This grant will allow us to provide additional compensation to our current teachers and market for additional high-quality teachers so that we can serve more families."
