Montco Childcare Workers Get $645 Bonus
The special state program benefits Montgomery County's 103 licensed childcare providers.
NORRISTOWN, PA — Eligible child care staff in Montgomery County will receive a one-time $645 award through a special state program, officials announced.
The Pennsylvania Child Care Staff Recruitment and Retention Program funds licensed childcare providers to help support retention efforts.
"Early learning and child care programs are an invaluable resource that foster educational and social development for our youngest Pennsylvanians and are a catalyst for a healthy, vibrant economy,” said Deputy Secretary for the Office of Child Development and Early Learning Shante Brown shared in a statement. “Our dedicated, passionate child care workers are the ones who make that possible."

Awards range from $450 to $645 depending on staff member.
The state says that 3,458 childcare providers around the state received retention awards, while another 374 received awards for recruitment.

A total of $2.47 million was invested in the project.
Montgomery County has 103 certified childcare providers.
