Montco Handling More Than 100 Crashes Amid Snowstorm Tuesday Morning

Authorities strongly urged Montgomery County residents to stay off the roads.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Emergency officials are extremely busy in Montgomery County Tuesday morning, with more than a hundred "active" crashes or vehicle incidents underway.

The Montgomery County Department of Public Safety plugged the particular number of incidents at 128 at 10 a.m.

"Don't become the 129th!" they urged. "Please stay off the roads!"

That number increased to 139 by 10:10 a.m.

Storm estimates for the local area shifted overnight as the storm drew strength. Up to six inches of snow could fall in the eastern half of the county, and up to eight inches could fall in the western half, the National Weather Service said. As rain transition to heavy snow

The county has dispatched snow plows, salt crews, and emergency responders, but the roads are not safe.

Montgomery County's Active Incident Dispatch shows that the traffic incidents are spread across the entire county, with clusters of accidents in Norristown, Pottstown, Lansdale, and Willow Grove.

In some places key roads have been shut down, including Eagleville Road in Lower Providence.

No injuries have yet been reported.
