Montco To Host 'Appeal For Healing' After Pittsburgh Shooting
The "Appeal for Healing and Solidarity" will take place on the Montgomery County Courthouse steps Tuesday.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Montgomery County will gather to honor the 11 lives lost during a shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue Saturday.
The "Appeal for Healing and Solidarity" event will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30 on the Montgomery County Courthouse steps in Norristown.

"Montgomery County is holding a multi-denominational, non-partisan and non-political event in response to the mass shooting in Pittsburgh and other hate-inspired incidents we have seen in recent weeks and months."
The gunman, Robert G. Bowers, 46, of Pittsburhg walked into the Tree of Life Synongue with an AR-15 and three Glock handguns, a federal complaint states. KDKA reported he yelled "All Jews must die" when he started the massacre. At one point, he flat-out told an officer ,"I just want to kill Jews," according to the complaint.

The 11 dead range in age from 54 to 97, and the six wounded include four police officers who rushed to the scene.
The event is being organized by county officials.
The courthouse is located at the corner of Swede and Airy streets in Norristown.
