Montco Launches New Homeless Crisis Call Center

Individuals in need can call the center for help, receiving more "direct and local expertise," officials said.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Montgomery County has partnered with Your Way Home to open a new crisis call center to address homelessness in the region.

The new center, which will open Feb. 1, aims to provide more direct and local expertise to residents in need of help.

"For the vulnerable population that needs this resource, having an entry point to local services that is compassionate, knowledgeable, and efficient can be life-saving," Montgomery County Commissioner Jamila Winder said.

The center will be run by the Office of Community Connections in Montgomery County's Department of Health and Human Services.

The call center's number, 610-278-3522, will connect individuals experiencing homelessness with a "coordinated entry specialist." Locals should take note that starting Feb. 1, this is the number to call, not United Way of Southeastern PA’s 2-1-1 call center number.
