Montco Recruiting New 911 Call Center Operators, Starting at $39K

The county remains in dire need of more 911 telecommunicators.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Montgomery County is now recruiting for its next class of 9-11 call center operators, historically a position of major need throughout the region.

Telecommunicators require only a high school diploma, along with "excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills," a Pennsylvania driver's license, and typing ability, according to the job announcement.

New hires must pass through a six-month training class before beginning work. Operators must be able to handle high pressure, life and death situations gracefully and accurately.

Salary starts at $39,382 a year but can increase to $50,400 after completion of training. Paid training for the next class starts on Monday, July 17.
