Montco Seniors feel the Love from Subaru
Montco's Aging and Adult Services Contract Manager supports Montco SAAC's Meals on Wheels Program

For the past four years, the Senior Adult Activities Center of Montgomery County (Montco SAAC) has partnered with Subaru of America for the dealership’s Share the Love Event. When customers purchase or lease a new Subaru between now and January 2nd, Subaru will donate $250 toward warm, nutritious meals for home bound seniors when they select Meals on Wheels as their charity of choice.
For Susan Wenrick, Contract Manager at Aging and Adult Services of Montgomery County, the choice to support home bound seniors in Montco was an easy one for her. “I was first introduced to Meals on Wheels when I was hired by Aging and Adult Services and on of my responsibilities was monitoring home delivered meals programs almost 18 years ago. I quickly learned what an amazing program this was because it was volunteer driven with very little paid staff. As I monitored programs, I got to accompany MOW’s volunteers and I always would ask why they got involved in this program. The stories are too amazing to fully capture here. MOW is wonderful because everyone benefits, volunteers, the meal recipients, and the staff. I often say that the friendly visit is almost as important as the nutritious meal. I’m sure when I retire I will volunteer with a MOW program in some capacity.”
The staff at Montco SAAC has worked with Susan for years, and is honored by the fact that she selected Meals on Wheels as her charity of choice during Subaru’s Share the Love Event. Her donation will go towards ensuring that the 350 home bound seniors that enjoy a warm lunch, dinner, and friendly volunteer visit Monday through Friday will continue to receive the service that they love and depend on.
