Montco Teen 'On The Run' Captured In Stolen Vehicle: Police

Police said they found the 15-year-old boy sleeping in the stolen pickup truck, authorities said.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — A 15-year-old boy was arrested in Montgomery County last week after authorities said he stole a pickup truck as he intended to go "on the run."

Upper Providence Police in Collegeville received a tip last Friday that the stolen truck was located off of North Henderson Road in Upper Merion.

Upper Merion police responded and found the vehicle, a Chevrolet pickup, on Bayberry Court.

The teenager was inside the vehicle as they approached, and when they got closer, they realized he was sleeping, police said.

When police woke him up, he "advised them that he was on the run," according to authorities.

In addition to the stolen truck, the boy also had two unrelated criminal warrants, including one for another vehicle theft issued by the Pennsylvania State Police.

The child was taken to the Upper Providence Police where he awaits a preliminary hearing.
