Montgomery Co. Raises Pride Flag Over Courthouse
The special ceremony commemorates the beginning of Pride Month in Montgomery County and around the country.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Montgomery County raised the Pride Flag over the county courthouse on Monday morning as part of a special ceremony commemorating the beginning of Pride Month.
The event, which has become an annual ceremony, took place at 10 a.m. and involved county leaders and several other local officials, artists, and dignitaries.
It serves to "remind residents that Montgomery County is welcoming to all," officials said in a statement.

Montgomery County Commissioners were joined by Lori Schreiber, Montgomery County Clerk of Courts, Morgan Selkirk, Chair of the Montgomery County Commission for LGBTQIA+ Affairs, Tina Ramberg-Michael, 2025 Montgomery County Youth Poet Laureate, and poet David Gaines.
June 1 is the 56th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, which took place in New York in June 1969 and are widely seen as a catalyst for the LGBTQ movement.
