Montgomery Co. Sheriff Kilkenny To Lead PA Sheriff's Association

The Montgomery County leader will be in charge of one of the nation's foremost law enforcement advocacy groups.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Montgomery County's Sheriff Sean Kilkenny was sworn in as the new president of the Pennsylvania Sheriff’s Association on Friday.

The organization, one of the nation's foremost law enforcement advocacy groups, supports the state's 67 county sheriffs’ offices.

"I am deeply honored to serve as your President for the next year," Kilkenny said. "Thank you to everyone who has supported me, especially my family. My mother, Lorraine Kilkenny, a retired public school teacher, and my late father, Patrick Kilkenny, an Army veteran and police officer, who instilled in me the values of public service. I also want to thank my wife, Betsy, and my daughters, Maddi and Gabbi, for their unwavering support."

Kilkenny is just the sheriff from Montgomery County to lead the organization and the first in more than 70 years.

U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, Dave McCormick, former Auditor General and York State Representative Eugene DePasquale, and York District Attorney Dave Sunday were all in attendance at the event.
