Montgomery County Declares Code Blue
Potentially dangerous cold weather looms Tuesday night, officials warn. Additional resources have been made available.
NORRISTOWN, PA — A Code Blue cold weather emergency has been declared in Montgomery County as frigid temperatures loom for Thanksgiving week around the region.
The declaration is in place from 8 p.m. Tuesday night, Nov. 23, to 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, Nov. 24. The wind chill is expected to dip below 20 degrees in the county, leading to potentially life-threatening conditions for those on the streets or without reliable shelter.

Families in need of shelter should go to the Salvation Army in Norristown (610-275-4183), or the Your Way Home Call Center at 2-1-1 (or text your zip code to 898-211).
The low is expected to hit 22 on Tuesday night, the National Weather Service says, with wind chills even lower. Things will remain cold, but not quite as frigid, on Wednesday night, with a low of 27.

The Thanksgiving Day forecast looks sunny with a high of 54, although rain will come through overnight as temperatures drop into the upper 30s early Friday.
