Montgomery County Gets 144 Acres Of Preserved Farmland

The county also set aside more than $50,000 in additional funding for farms.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- Montgomery County added 144 new acres of protected farmland in 2015.

The county also now has committed more than $50,000 additional funding from the state toward farmland preservation in 2016, according to The Reporter.

2015’s acquisitions included Linsenmaier Farm, 78 acres, in Upper Frederick Township and the Barndt Farm, 66 acres, in Salford Township were preserved, the report states.

Land owners enter the farmland preservation program of their own will, and are assisted in preserving the property by the county.
