Montgomery County Men Assault Elderly Veteran In Violent Home Invasion: Report

Two Montgomery County men have been arrested for assaulting an elderly Chester County veteran of the Korean War, according to a report by Philly.com.

Zachary Hails, 27, and John Reeves, 24, went to the West Vincent Township home of 81-year-old Donald Rehrman after Hails, a handyman, went there to repair the refrigerator and saw where Rehrman, a widower, kept his cash, the report states.

On July 26, they entered the home, Reeves assaulted Rehrman, and the pair stole money, Rehrman’s late wife’s jewelry, and a bottle of prescription medicine from the home, the report states.

The pair then used the money to buy heroin in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, according to the report.

Rehrman suffered bleeding wounds to his arms and legs and bruises to his head, the report states. Both suspects have preliminary hearings set for October 8.
