Most Sustainable, Innovative Montco Projects: 2023 Montgomery Awards

The annual awards program recognizes the most environmentally-friendly, futuristic, and distinctive projects across Montgomery County.

NORRISTOWN, PA — The Montgomery County Planning Commission is seeking nominations for its annual awards program recognizing the most innovative and environmentally friendly projects executed in the county over the past year.

The 2023 Montgomery Awards Program is accepting nominations through May 8.

"This prestigious annual program recognizes the best in planning, design, and environmental sustainability and promotes awareness of outstanding building design and innovative site planning in communities within the county," organizers said. "It acknowledges the high quality of work and commitment of communities, organizations, individuals, and professionals in contributing to these excellent projects."

Examples of projects include land development, new apartment homes, office buildings, commercial sites, and other institutional developments that are built with the future in mind. Aspects like parking, circulation, walkability, pedestrian amenities, landscaping, and other sustainable design principles are hallmarks of past winners.

The Ursinus Discovery Center, Lansdale's SEPTA Garage and new Borough Hall, Ardmore's Cricket Flats, and Narbeth Placeare just a few of the many past winners.

2023 marks the 56th anniversary of the Montgomery Awards, a program launched in 1967.
