Murder Charges Filed In Killing Of Norristown Native And Infant Daughter: Cops
A Norristown native and mother of a 21 month year old little girl were savagely killed in their Virginia home in March.
NORRISTOWN, PA -- A man has been arrested in the killing of Norristown native Alyssa Kenny and her infant daughter, Anastasia Leighann Alley, who were living in Virginia at the time of the crimes.
Richard Denny Noftsinger Jr., 36, of Galax, was charged with murder, Galax, Virginia police said.
Kenny was 28 and her daughter was only 21 months old when they found dead in their home on March 10.

Galax police said the deaths were "obviously caused by a violent attack." They added that the case remained under investigation.
"This is still an active investigation and we will continue to pursue information as it is received," police said in a statement. "The department will continue to work with the Virginia Bureau of Forensic Science where evidence is still being examined. We anticipate as the investigation continues that additional items of evidence will be submitted for analysis."

Noftsinger is held without bond in the New River Valley Regional Jail pending his arraignment.
A potential motive is not clear at this time, and it's unknown what, if any, prior connection Noftsinger may have had to Kenny and her daughter.
The Galax Police Department said that they were alerted on March 10 by someone who believed the occupants of the home were dead.
"It is horrible, unbelievable, and unthinkable," said Gina Whitby, a friend of the family.
Kenny is a graduate of of Norristown Area High School, where she was a co-captain of the cheerleading team. She went on to West Chester University.
"My sister and my niece were the brightest beams of light in my family's lives, we will never be the same without them," said Reissa Kenny Roma, who started a GoFundMe page for expenses related to the incident. "My heart is truly broken, I have never felt a loss like this. Please pray for justice for Ally and Ana. I am confident more details will come to light and I pray justice is served quickly."
A community vigil for Alyssa and Anastasia was held in Norristown at St. Francis of Assisi in the days after their deaths. Hundreds attended.
