Natural Egg Dyeing at Norristown Farm Park

An authentic Easter tradition dating back to the Pennsylvania Dutch.

EAST NORRITON, PA – The Pennsylvania Dutch began the tradition of dyeing eggs with wild berries, bark, grasses, and roots. During a program about Natural Egg Dyeing at Norristown Farm Park on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 2:00pm participants are going to follow that example by using natural materials to dye eggs, rather than commercial tablets.

Bring at least a dozen hard-boiled eggs. The colors that result are not always predictable, but the element of surprise will add to the fun.

This program is sponsored by the Montgomery County Parks, Trails, and Historic Sites Division of the Department of Assets and Infrastructure. The program is suitable for adults and children twelve and older. Preregistration is required. Please call 610-270-0215 to preregister. There is a $5.00 fee per person.
