NORRISTOWN, PA — New playground installations and renovations at two Norristown parks are now complete.

The $126,451 project brought sparkling new playground equipment to Ackey's Park and Scag Cottman Park, which both had playgrounds more than a decade old.

“Municipal Council is excited to have updated recreation amenities for our kids,” Norristown Council President Sonya Sanders said in a statement. “Norristown has great parks, we want our children to enjoy the outdoors and these facilities for years to come.”

Officials said that several other park projects are underway in the borough, including improvements at Latshaw-McCarthy Field, the Norristown Recreation Center, and Riverfront Park.
