NORRISTOWN, PA — Some of the region’s cutest residents have arrived at Elmwood Park Zoo.

Four new baby peccaries were born in Norristown Friday as the zoo continues to expand its new and baby animal offerings.

It’s the second birth for parent peccaries Yavi and Parsley. Their girls Chimi and Churri were born in July of 2022.

“Peccaries living in the wild are highly sociable animals, and they often travel in groups called squadrons,” the zoo shared, as Elmwood begins to form its own “squadron.”

The littlest peccaries are located down the path from the giraffe and zebra enclosure north of the barn.

The zoo asks guests to respect the young family and to be quiet as they approach.
