New Full-Time Norristown Firefighter Sworn In
Welcome Norristown's newest full-time firefighter, Bret Baker.
NORRISTOWN, PA — A new full time firefighter was sworn in recently in Norristown.
Bret Baker, a 15-year veteran of the emergency services field, was sworn in during a recent municipal county meeting.
“I’m excited to work with the forward-thinking, professional department this is Norristown Fire Department,” said Baker, in a released issued by Norristown. “I want to develop my own set of skills, get promoted through the ranks, learn, be safe, and help the residents of Norristown.”

Baker, 29, has served as an EMT and firefighter with numerous companies around the region, including Minquas Fire Company No.2 of Downingtown, First West Chester Fire Company, Montgomery County Fire Rescue Services in Montgomery County, Maryland, Manheim Township Fire and Rescue, and Phoenixville Fire Department.
Baker has been earned a wide variety of state firefighter and EMT certifications.
