Nola pitches the Phillies to a 6-0 win over Miami

Philadelphia's Phillies have lost five of their last seven games but are 17-13 on the young season and are just 1.5 games behind the Eastern Division leading Atlanta Braves (18-11).

The Phillies got by the Miami Marlins Wednesday night 6-0 behind the strong pitching of Aaron Nola (4-1). He worked into the eighth inning Wednesday night on the road in Miami. Nola walked just one batter and struck out seven against the Marlins (11-19).

Philadelphia got 12 hits on the night with four different players getting two hits each. Second baseman Cesar Hernandez had the lone homerun of the night, a deep solo shot over the centerfield fence in the first inning.

Miami was limited to just five hits on the night against the solid pitching of the Phillies.

Philadelphia gets a day off and then starts a three-game series at Washington on Friday.
