Police had asked for the public's help after the young boy was found Wednesday night.

NORRISTOWN, PA — A non-verbal child found alone and wandering in Norristown on Wednesday evening has been safely reunited with his family, authorities confirmed.

Police put out a call for help from the public at around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday after the young boy, about 5 or 6 years old, was found at the intersection of George and Oak streets.

They had little to identify him by beyond his spider mad sneakers, video game shorts, and blue shirt.

By just before 6:30 p.m., the child had been identified and his family had been located.

"UPDATE: This beautiful child has been reunited with his family," the police department shared Wednesday night.

Authorities thanked the community for their assistance in the case.
