Norristown To Be Sprayed For Mosquitoes Next Week

Several blocks in Norristown will receive a chemical spraying for disease-carrying mosquitoes next week.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Several blocks in Norristown will receive a chemical spraying for disease-carrying mosquitoes next week.

The spraying will be done by officials with the Montgomery County Office of Public Health utilizing a truck-mounted ultra-low volume sprayer.

It will take place in a square section of the borough, from Sterigere to Marshall and Stanbridge to Forrest. Department of Environmental Protection crews have identified mosquitoes with West Nile Virus in that area.

The spraying will be held from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25.

Residents in the spray area should stay indoors, close windows, and turn off ventilation systems that draw in outside area, authoriteis said.

The chemical used will be Duet duel-action adulticide.
