Norristown Council Expands Partnership With Kenya
A delegation from Kenya visited the borough in January.

The Norristown Municipal Council will discuss expanding its partnership with Kiambu County in Kenya at its Council Workshop Tuesday night.
The council will discuss making an official “Memorandum of Understanding” between the borough and Kiambu County, which is basically an agreement to work together toward common goals into the future.
A delegation from Kiambu County visited Norristown in January after the International Center for Alleviation of Poverty Inc. organized a visiting exchange. Several Norristown municipal officials also traveled to Kenya.

“The main focus of this exchange (and the memorandum) is for the Delegation to study and observe how the local government system works,” the borough said. “The trip will help them to understand principles and best practices of a democratic government as a way to increase opportunities for Kiambu County in Kenya.”
