Norristown Council To Vote On President, Analysis Of Police
Municipal council will hold its reorganization meeting as the new year begins, while also considering a private "unbiased" review of the PD.
NORRISTOWN, PA — The new year is getting underway, and local municipalities are making preparations for what could mark a new way of doing government.
Norristown's municipal council will hold its reorganization procedures during their scheduled upcoming meeting on Tuesday night.
Council will discuss nominations and vote on both vice president and president, and each officer will be sworn into duty shortly thereafter.

The council will also address several other resolutions, including the promotion of Norristown Police Department's Michael Bishop to the rank of captain and Sergeant James Angelucci to lieutenant.
The council will also vote on a proposed $72,000 grant to the Center for Public Safety Management, a Washington, D.C.-based emergency training services school, to provide a comprehensive and "unbiased" analysis of the police department's services.

Municipal council meetings are open to the public. They're held on the first floor of the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit at 2 West Lafayette Street in Norristown.
