Norristown Fire Department Gets New K-9

NORRISTOWN, PA — The Norristown Fire Department has a new member of their firefighting squad.

Arson detection K-9 Wagner has officially joined the squad.

Wagner will work with firefighter David Soulen as his training ramps up. His formal education begins on Saturday.

"We look forward to Wagner spending many hours at the fire station along with appearances at schools and community events," the fire department said in their announcement.

The two month old Labrador retriever is named for the U.S. Army's Lt. Col. Karen J. Wagner, who died at 40 in the Pentagon when the plane hit on Sept. 11, 2001.
