Police are looking for a suspect they say hit a 7-year-old boy while he was riding his bicycle in Norristown on Wednesday afternoon.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- Police are looking for a car they say hit a 7-year-old boy while he was riding his bicycle in Norristown on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred on May 25 at about 3:51 p.m., police said.

The boy was riding his bike on the 1200 block of Oakwood Avenue when he was struck by a gold Toyota Camry, according to authorities.

The car fled the scene, while the boy was rushed to the hospital, police said.

Responders said the boy was conscious and alert at the scene on the incident before the ambulance took him away.

The gold Camry was found several blocks from the scene of the incident, but the suspect is still at large. An investigation is underway, police said.

The boy was released from the hospital on Thursday morning, police said.
