Earlier this week, 22 school superintendents in Montgomery County, along with county officials, unanimously agreed to cancel all in-person graduation ceremonies scheduled for the late spring.
But even before that happened, Norristown had already "begun to prepare for the possibility that a traditional graduation may not be able to be held."

"We will turn our energies to focus on devising alternative methods to recognize and celebrate the achievements of the NAHS Class of 2020," Superintendent Christopher T. Dormer wrote in a letter to the school community Tuesday. "We will exhaust all options to ensure our seniors can enjoy the end of their senior year and celebrate graduation to the greatest extent possible."
School officials are working on multiple options, including the possibility of a virutal ceremony on June 11, as well as drive up and drive through events that would comply with social distancing guidelines.
Dormer said he hoped to have finalized plans ready to share with students in the near future.
