"As this country grew and prospered, it first relied upon abundant natural resources and then upon manufacturing excellence. As we transitioned between the twentieth and twenty- first centuries, more and more we have relied upon innovation in science and technology to maintain our world leadership. My perception is that the more lucrative careers in business now appeal to our brightest and best students more than the less glamorous fields of science and technology. My objective in endowing this scholarship is to, in some small way, help to make science and technology more attractive to bright students."

Congratulations, Yong!
