Norristown July Health Inspections: East Main Street Cafe, Shop and Save, Taste of the Islands

NORRISTOWN, PA — A month has gone by, and Montgomery County officials have inspected several food establishments in the Norristown area.

Shop and Save Food Market and Deli led the way with 14 violations. Among their discrepancies: no notice stating that health inspection is publicly available, no certified food protection manager on site, hand wash sink blocked, freezer unit too warm (30 degrees), and more.

All of the inspections below were completed during the month of July.

• Center 4 Youth, inspected July 28, 2 violations
• Delaware Valley Residential Care, inspected July 26, 3 violations
• Bay Crab House, inspected July 25, 9 violations
• Rico's Tacos, inspected July 24, no violations (closed due to fire damage)
• East Main Street Cafe, inspected July 21, 6 violations
• Talk of the Town Sweet Shop, inspected July 14, 3 violations
• Taste of the Islands, inspected July 11, 4 violations
• George Washington Carver Community Center, inspected July 11, no violations
• Shop and Save Food Market and Deli, inspected July 5, 14 violations
