Norristown Launches Schuylkill River Trail Signing System

Established by the Norristown Fire and Police Departments, the program calls for post mounted street signs which will have a green background and reflective white letters and boarder located at the following intervals along the Schuylkill River Trail (SRT) in Norristown.

This program will enable first responders to locate a trail user in need on the system quicker, this locator program has the potential to drastically cut down on emergency response times and could save a life.

Signs have been installed at the following locations.

1. Forest Avenue, municipal limit to the west

2. Buttonwood Street

3. Stanbridge Street

4. Haws Avenue

5. Chain Street

6. Markley Street

7. Barbadoes Street

8. Dekalb Street

9. Mill Street

10.Walnut Street

11.Ford Street, nearing the municipal limit to the east
