Norristown Native And Baby Daughter Found Murdered In Virginia
Outrage and grief hit Norristown after Alyssa Kenny, 28, and her 21-month-old daughter were found dead inside their Virginia home.
NORRISTOWN, PA -- Outrage and grief are pouring in from the Norristown community after the brutal killing of an area native and her young daughter.
Alyssa Kenny, 28, and her 21-month-old daughter, Anastasia Leighann Alley, were found dead in their home in Galax, Virginia on March 10.
The Galax Police Department said that they were alerted by someone who believed the occupants of the home were dead.

An official cause of death for both is pending an autopsy, but the incident is being investigated, in the meantime, as a double-homicide, according to police.

"It is horrible, unbelievable, and unthinkable," said Gina Whitby, a friend of the family.
Kenny is a graduate of of Norristown Area High School, where she was a co-captain of the cheerleading team. She went on to West Chester University.
"My sister and my niece were the brightest beams of light in my family's lives, we will never be the same without them," said Reissa Kenny Roma, who started a GoFundMe page for expenses related to the incident. "My heart is truly broken, I have never felt a loss like this. Please pray for justice for Ally and Ana. I am confident more details will come to light and I pray justice is served quickly."
A community vigil for Alyssa and Anastasia is set for Monday night in Norristown at St. Francis of Assisi on 600 Hamilton Street. It will begin at 5:30 p.m. A Facebook event for the vigil has been set up here.
A visitation is being held Monday in Virginia, while a service and burial have been scheduled for Friday.
