Norristown Native, Teacher Who Had Just Retired, Dies In Accident

DONNA M. NABOZNY, 66, OF LOWER SALFORD Donna M. (Hunsworth) Nabozny, 66, wife of Matthew F. Nabozny Jr., Lower Salford Twp., died Saturday, January 9, 2016 in a Dennis Twp., Cape May Co. auto accident.

Mrs. Nabozny was born on October 23, 1949, in Norristown, and was a daughter of the late Melvin T. and Elizabeth V. (Harley) Hunsworth.

She was a 1967 graduate of Collegeville–Trappe H.S., earned a BS degree in elementary education from Bloomsburg Univ., in 1971, and later earned an MS degree in elementary education from West Chester Univ.

Mrs. Nabozny retired in June of 2015, from teaching at Phoenixville Area School District’s Schuylkill Elementary School.

She previously taught at Sacred Heart School, Phoenixville; St. Eleanor School, Collegeville; St. Mary School, Lower Frederick Twp.

Mrs. Nabozny was a member of the Church Of St. Mary, where she was a former CCD teacher. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Nabozny is survived by her children, Matthew F. III, fiancé of Gabriele deSouza, at home, and Jillian Nabozny, Trappe; her granddaughter, Hailey Weglarz; and her siblings, Janet, wife of the late Edwin Wolf, Villas, NJ; Kay Giampa, companion of Jerry Deering, New Port Richey, FL, and Douglas, husband of Marion (Banachowski) Hunsworth, St. Augustine, FL.

The funeral mass will be held at Noon, Saturday, at the Church Of St. Mary, 40 Spring Mount Rd., Lower Frederick Twp.

Burial will be in Limerick Garden Of Memories, Limerick Twp.
