Norristown Police To Increase Patrols, Enforce Traffic Laws

Increased enforcement will be put in place over the next month on several blocks in Norristown where reckless driving has become a problem.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Increased enforcement will be put in place over the next month on several blocks in Norristown where reckless driving has become a problem.

"They want to reduce traffic accidents and injuries," the Norristown Police Department said in a statement announcing the patrols. "Officers will be introducing themselves to motorists who fail to obey traffic laws. Please drive safely."

Patrols will be stationed in the following areas:

  • 1400 to 1500 blocks of Markley Street
  • 500 block of East Lafayette
  • 900 to 1000 blocks of W. Airy
  • 1400 to 1500 blocks of New Hope Street
  • 1000 to 1200 blocks of W. Main Street
  • 1400 to 1600 blocks of DeKalb Street

Police did not specify if speeding, drunk driving, reckless driving, running red lights and stop signs, and other traffic laws will be enforced.
