Norristown Police Remember Fallen Officer

Norristown police remembered one of their fallen officers with an online tribute on Sunday.

Officer Tommy Braone was killed in the line of duty 23 years ago.

Barone was responding to a domestic violence call on October 11, 1992, on the 600 block of West Elm Street.

“He was climbing a narrow staircase when the subject opened fire on him, striking him multiple times, before being taken into custody,” according to the Officer Down Memorial Page.

The suspect was captured and sentenced to death, but died in prison before his scheduled execution.

Barone had served with the Norristown Police Department for two years.
