Norristown Voter's Guide 2022: Who's Running, Where To Vote

NORRISTOWN, PA — One of the most consequential elections this generation is coming up Tuesday. Here's a rundown of what Norristown residents need to know.

The basics

• Polls are open on election day from 7 a.m.-8p.m.

• Emergency absentee voting: If an emergency arises (such as an unexpected illness or disability or last-minute absence), call the county Board of Elections for information on the Emergency Alternative Ballot.

Who is on the ballot

The 2022 election includes a spread of races for state house, state senate, and higher state office. There are also races for U.S Congress at play.

U.S. Congress

Incumbent Democrat Mary Gay Scanlon is running against Republican David Galluch.

PA General Assembly, 54th District

Democrat and District Judge Greg Scott and Republican Allen Arthur Anderson.

U.S. Senate

The winner will fill outgoing U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey's seat. Lt. Gov. John Fetterman saw his early lead to celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz dwindle in the final weeks of the campaign. The race is now considered a toss-up.

Pennsylvania governor

The gubernatorial race leans to the Democratic side, with Attorney General Josh Shapiro holding a large lead over Republican State Sen. Doug Mastriano.
