A Norristown woman has admitted to stabbing her stepfather but will not face murder charges.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- A Norristown woman has admitted to stabbing her stepfather but will not face murder charges.
Shakira Hayward, 24, has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor involuntary manslaughter, court documents show.
Hayward was involved in an argument with Kenneth Bullock, 37, her stepfather, in the early morning hours of March 9, 2016, the DA said. It's unclear what the fight, which took place at his home on Marshall Street, was about.

The disagreement escalated, during which time Hayward repeatedly stabbed Bullock.
Bullock was found in the morning and taken to Suburban Community Hospital, where police arrived at 7:12 a.m., the DA said.

Bullock was pronounced dead by 8:55 a.m.
Hayward was immediately taken into custody and was originally charged with third-degree murder, voluntary manslaughter and other charges, the DA said.
Sentencing is forthcoming.
