Norristown Woman Stabbed Stepfather To Death: DA

The brutal stabbings led to the death of the woman's stepfather, authorities say. It was the first homicide in Norristown in 2016.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- A Norristown woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her stepfather to death on Wednesday, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.

Shakira Hayward, 23, was involved in an argument with Kenneth Bullock, 37, her stepfather, in the early morning hours Wednesday, the DA said. It's unclear what the fight, which took place at his home on Marshall Street, was about.

The disagreement escalated, during which time Hayward repeatedly stabbed Bullock.

Bullock was found in the morning and taken to Suburban Community Hospital, where police arrived at 7:12 a.m., the DA said.

Bullock was pronounced dead by 8:55 a.m.

Hayward was immediately taken into custody and has been arraigned without bail. She is being charged with hird-degree murder, voluntary manslaughter and other charges, the DA said.

It was the first homicide in Norristown in 2016, the DA said.

A preliminary hearing is set for March 23 at 10 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Margaret Hunsicker.
